About the Artist

Ronnis has been creating LifeMaps for about 20 years. She has had a long career in the field of Education, first as an elementary school teacher, and then as a training course designer, developer and facilitator in the business environment. In fact, LifeMaps were the result of an assignment she gave to her 5th grade students as a part of a unit they were studying on Mapping.

Ronnis began giving personalized maps she had created as gifts to friends, family and colleagues for special occasions. People who saw the LifeMaps at parties began asking Ronnis to create customized maps for them to give to their own friends and family.

Through her interviews, Ronnis is able to uncover the memorable moments experienced by the map recipients, their personality traits, as well as the important people and places in their lives. Ronnis then depicts this information in a way that is captivating, humorous, and often, touching. LifeMaps become treasured keepsakes for the recipients and their families.
